The 11th of the 11th in ‘s-Hertogenbosch: who wouldn’t want to be there? It is the day of the fourth edition of New Music Conference, which will again take place in the Verkadefabriek, s-Hertogenbosch. Composers, musicians, music publishers, booking agents, label representatives and others working in new music and all related genres: we hope to welcome you again.

The conference is beginning to take shape with several interesting lectures on diverse topics. One thread is the shifting of boundaries, a series of talks in cooperation with the music professorships of Dutch art schools. Instead of activities taking place exclusively on traditional stages, composers and musicians are increasingly coming to the fore in various public spaces, starting music-based initiatives in care and educational institutions, making site-specific installations and initiating community-art projects. A fascinating development, which at the same time raises questions. How does music work with and in other practices? What implications does this have for concert and festival practice? How is contemporary music practice connected to its social environment?
