Timeless music that vibrates with mathematical beauty as can be experienced, for example, in Bach's magnum opus the Goldberg Variations. In his Suite for Piano, Zorn looks back on the iron piano repertoire, while putting his own spin on it. Pianist Brian Marsella is able to extract the jazz from the classical like no other, and discover the jazz in the classical. John Zorn's 10-part suite was tailor-made for Marsella. The dynamic duo Jorge Roeder (bass) and Ches Smith (drums) accompany the piano maestro in an inspired way.
