The Dream House Quartet could rightly be called a dream ensemble. It is a collaboration of festival composer/guitarist Bryce Dessner and the famous French piano sisters Katia and Marielle Labèque and guitarist David Chalmin. The quartet, who are friends as well as colleagues, explore the legacies of minimal music and post-minimalism but also go on excursions to rock and pop music. Dessner has written a new piece for the Dream House Quartet, specifically for this occasion, commissioned by November Music. In addition, the quartet plays work by Meredith Monk, Philip Glass and group member David Chalmin.
