The film installation Juxtaposition, created by the composer Simon Burgers and the video artist Rainer Hensel, offers a poetic imagining of our specific era. The film presents the Netherlands as a country brimming with contradictions where both the urban environment and an increasingly endangered nature play the leading roles. Juxtaposition shows us wonderful nature visuals as well as contemplative poems written by James Joyce. Simon Burgers composed a meditative soundtrack for solo harp, performed by Anneleen Schuitemaker (Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra). The film installation can be seen and heard in all serenity in the Verkadefabriek Conservatory (Serre) throughout November Music.
