Whatever the sadness that underpins it, if a composer sets to write a requiem the waves of inspiration start to churn of their own accord. Roukens is the sixth Dutch composer commissioned by the festival to create a Bosch Requiem in what has become a tradition by now. Both top ensembles, the Netherlands Chamber Choir and Amsterdam Sinfonietta, are rallying behind Roukens’ Requiem.
