In all its desire for control, humanity tries to get a grip on the chaos around it. Systems are devised, structures are invented and theories are espoused. This indestructible human tendency to control and allay fears is central to the work of the Dutch visual artist Art van Triest (1983). Van Triest regularly builds large installations that redefine a space as carefully constructed networks. Especially for November Music and Willem Twee Kunstruimte, Van Triest created the new installation A City, A Forest tailor-made for the unique, industrial exhibition space of the Willem Twee. During FAQ Festival on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 November, musicians will interact live with the installation.
